Selection of Wedding Venue: Carlton Hotel

Visited Carlton Hotel during one of our off days, as we heard some good reviews regarding the hotel service and food.

They have 3 banquet halls- Esplanade room (min. 10 tables, max. 12 tables), Empress room 1 - 3 (min. 20 tables, max. 30 tables) and Empress room 4 - 5 (min. 25 tables, max. 38 tables).

Weekend Wedding Dinner: $1198.00++ per table of 10 persons

Pros:

• Very polite and prompt wedding coordinator
• Sufficient reception area
• Well-renovated
• Walking distance from Bras Basah or City Hall MRT
• Very nice wedding favours

Cons:

• Pillar
• Low ceiling

Reason for not shortlisting Carlton: Wanted to wait till their wedding show to see their themes but they couldn't confirm the date so we decided to search for other hotels instead.

Selection of Wedding Venue: Novotel Clarke Quay

Realizing that Novotel Clarke Quay allows a minimum of 18 tables, we decided to check out the venue and promotional offers at their wedding show.

They have 2 banquet halls - Cinnamon Ballroom (min. 18 tables and max. 26 tables) and Phoenix Grand Ballroom (min. 30 tables and max. 55 tables).

Weekend Wedding Dinner

(January 2015 – December 2015): $1128.00++ per table of 10 persons
Additional S$100.00++ more for eve of and public holidays

 

Pros:

• Sufficient reception area
• Pillarless
• Relatively modern theme
• Clean and bright
• Reasonably priced menu

Cons:

• About 15 mins walk from Clarke Quay station
• Small bridal suite with weird mosquito netting
• Low ceiling

Reason for not shortlisting: J didn't like the service of the sales manager, I don't remember his name but he was so cocky and rude when we ask questions about the menu and whatnot.

They have quite a few banquet halls which can cater to a capacity of min. 20 tables and maximum of 45 tables.

Weekend Wedding Dinner

(January 2015 – December 2015): $1288.00++ per table of 10 persons

DBS/POSB Card promotion: 1 complimentary table for every 10 guaranteed tables

 

Pros:

• Sufficient reception area
• Sufficient parking lots
• Pillarless
• Great service by wedding coordinator
• Reasonable price

Cons:

• Low ceiling
• Pretty inaccessible compared to the mainland

Reason for not shortlisting: J just attended 2 weddings recently in Sentosa and he said many people did not stay till the end as they were rushing to catch the last train home and many complained that it was too far and inconvenient. So despite liking the venue and awesome team of wedding coordinators, I decided to give it a miss.

Equarius Hotel

We had to walk to equarius hotel to view the glass pavilion for solemnization. A buggy will be provided on the actual day for the couple.

 

If you would like to have your solemnization at the glass pavilion, it will be chargeable at S$2,288.00++, which includes basic floral decorations, the setup of chairs and tables and the usage of a sound system with 2 wireless microphones. Super pretty and romantic but itw as out of our budget~

Since J proposed to me in Rendezvous, I thought that if we get married at Rendezvous too, it will be very meaningful for us, so I went to contact them to make arrangments for a site vist.

Weekend Wedding Dinner

(January 2015 – December 2015): $1068.00++ or $1168.00++ per table of 10 persons

 

Pros:

• Sufficient reception area
• Pillarless
• Walking distance from Dhoby Ghaut MRT
• Reasonable price
• Very decent and comfy room

Cons:

• Low ceiling
• Weird layout (some tables will have to be placed beside the stage in a corner)

Reason for not shortlisting: J didn't like the weird layout.
