Checked out Jin Yu on one of the weekend in March and the banquet is usually held on the 2nd level but after seeing the ground level, I fell in love with the simplicity of the décor and felt it had a more modern feel to it compared to many Chinese Restaurant in Johor. In addition, the size is smaller than the 2nd level which suited our 10 to 12 tables perfectly!

I liked it so much that J agreed to make a deposit of RM$1,000 on that day for the ground level venue! Nearly died from happiness because we finally decided on a venue in Johor and I really loveee the place heehee! ^^

Ground Level:

Hall on the 2nd Level:

Pros:
  • Good service
  • Private venue
  • Food is great
  • Competitive price wedding packages
  • Wedding cards and printing are inclusive in package as long as there is 10 tables and above
  • Very flexible with requests
Cons:
  • Can't think of any..
But sadly 有緣無份 (loosely translated as 'have fate without destiny'), as few weeks after we made the deposit, J's mum brought up that she felt that the venue will be relatively far from the house and we might get trapped in the jam during rush hour. And moreover she preferred to have the banquet at Restoran Pekin (Taman Sentosa) which is about 15 to 20 mins drive away. Yeap so we explored Restoran Pekin's branches (will be reviewed in a later post). But summarizing it, we gave up the venue and the deposit of RM$1,000 was converted to meal deposit which we will use it to treat his relatives to lunch after the tea ceremony. And sadly, J & I wouldn't be able to eat the food as we had to rush for the tea ceremony session at my parent's.

Heartbroken much...
